Nepeta cataria
Nepeta cataria is the true catnip that is loved by house cats everywhere! It can be hard to keep a new plant in the ground, as nearby cats will seek it out and may want to chew it to the ground. Nepetalactone is the active ingredient that affects most cats. Great for herbal teas, potpourris, and cat toys. It makes a gentle relaxing tea to be enjoyed while kitty is blissed out. Attracts butterflies as well.
