Aji Orange’ Hot Pepper
Capsicum baccatum
This Locoto pepper has 2-3″ long, tapered, orange pods that are thin walled and moderately spicy. It is a classic ingredient in Peruvian cuisine, commonly paired with red onion and cilantro. Tropical peppers do well planted next to the house, in a greenhouse, or in a pot that is protected during the winter (ideal to maintain soil temps above 65℉).

Habit: In our area, peppers can be made to perennialize when protected from frost in the winter. When kept relatively warm and happy will become a shrub 3' tall by 3' wide, smaller if kept in a pot or cut back
