Great Valley Gumweed

A tough and attractive native perennial found in valleys and lowlands of California. Thick green flower buds hold bright yellow daisies Summer through Fall. Resinous blooms are attractive to bees and butterflies. The resin makes a good cough tincture, which Native North Americans used it to treat bronchial problems and skin afflictions such as reactions to poison oak and poison ivy. Said to be deer resistant.
