American Skullcap/Maddog Skullcap

Also called “maddog skullcap” (because it was believed that this plant had properties that could cure rabies, which has been disproven), the extract of this plant is used in herbal medicine as a mild sedative for treating insomnia, anxiety, and ailments of the nervous system. Its showy white-throated purple flowers are also edible!
