Bodhi Tree

Bodhi tree is sacred to followers of Buddhism and Hinduism because Buddha reportedly sat under such a tree when he received enlightenment (bodhi). The oldest plant in the world of known planting is a tree planted in Sri Lanka in 288 BC. Today the bodhi tree is revered as a symbol of prosperity, happiness, good fortune, and long life.
Water: Moderate, avoid overwatering, reduce watering from Fall to late Winter

Habit: Broadleaf evergreen tree, 60 to 100' tall!
Light: Full sun, or in partial shade with protection from afternoon sun. If growing indoors give bright indirect light.
Soil: Average, moist, well-draining soils
Origin: Indian subcontinent and Indochina
