Bulbine Lily

Bulbine bulbosa

Bees and other pollinators love the fragrant orange or yellow flowers with a long flowering period. Succulent leaves with mucilaginous interiors have been used by herbalists for sunburn and minor skin burns, much like aloe. A great plant for rockeries, flower gardens, and containers.

Water: Prefers to be moist, but will resprout from corms if it dries out

Habit: Grows in dense colonies up to 30” tall

Light: Full Sun to Partial Shade

Soil: Adaptable

Origin: Australia; native to a variety of habitats, including dry forests, meadows, rocky crags, and hedge-banks. It is common in areas with Winter rainfall and inundated land such as swamps and bogs.
