Earth chestnut has a delicious edible taproot rich in carbohydrates, which when peeled can be eaten raw or cooked – tasting like potatoes blended with sweet chestnuts! An incredible pollinator plant when in flower, attracting multiple beneficial insects with its umbels of bright white flowers.
