Garden Sorrel

Rumex acetosa

Garden sorrel is a must-have for any permaculture garden or edible landscape. Easy to grow, durable and very productive with no pests, and lives many years. Leaves are used in salads for a piquant surprise, and are most commonly cooked into lemony sauces with butter and cream – to be served best with seafood. The flavour of garden sorrel is of sour tangy lemon. Kids love it, so it’s a great choice for children’s or school gardens!
