Porcupine Tomato

Solanum pyracanthos

A striking plant to say the least, with fuzzy bluish-green leaves tipped with gleaming orange thorns and contrasting dark purple showy flowers. Quite a specimen to have in your garden as a conversation starter! But don’t be fooled by the name, as unfortunately the small greenish fruit are reputed to be poisonous.
