
Tibetan Gentian
Gentiana tibeticum
This rare and beautiful gentian from the foothills of the Himalaya does well in most gardens and is a great addition to a medicinal herb garden. Gentian root has historically been used as a digestive bitter which stimulates bile production and enhances liver function. A rosette of wide tongue-shaped glossy leaves give rise to a stalk of waxy tubular creamy white flowers. Very ornamental!
