This pepper is similar in size, shape, and color to the common habenero, but with fruity flavour and no heat. Very similar to the aji dulce pepper. Tropical peppers do well planted next to the house, in a greenhouse, or in a pot that is protected during the Winter (ideal to maintain soil temps above 65℉).
Hardiness: Frost Tender
Habit: 18" tall by 12" wide. In our area, peppers can be made to perennialize when protected from frost in the Winter.
Light: Full Sun
Soil: Fertile, well- draining soil
Origin: Originally from the Peruvian Amazon, and domesticated in Mexico and the Carribean. Habaneros are named for the city of Havana, Cuba.
