California Mugwort

Artemisia douglasiana

Found in virtually every county of California, this magical plant has been used as a ceremonial plant in many Native American cultures, for use in treating minor injuries or as a dream potentiator. The plant is native to the Western United States and into Baja California where it is often found in moist areas such as drainages. It spreads by rhizomes, especially in damp areas, and can be useful in restoration projects and for erosion control.
