Chocolate Vine

Akebia quintata

The 2-3″ brilliant blue fruit (impossible to believe!) has a sweet tropical flavour akin to banana or coconut and its beautiful purple flowers have a chocolaty aroma. Young shoots can be eaten raw or cooked, and the leaves can also be used in tea.
