Purple Sage

Salvia purpurea

Has furry inflorescences of gorgeous purplish-pink flowers that attract bees and butterflies and are great for cut flowers. Also shade tolerant.

Hardiness: Frost Hardy

Habit: Reaches 6’ tall by 7’ wide if allowed to attain full size, but can be maintained at a more compact size with a twice annual pruning

Light: Full Sun to Partial Shade

Soil: Needs composted rich, well-draining soil

Origin: Several Mexican states and South into Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras
