Chinese Yam

Dioscoria batatas

Large tubers form underground, which can be harvested from Autumn to Winter. Small bulbils also form along the stem and are edible. Both taste like common potatoes, but are more flavourful! Used commonly in Chinese, Korean and Japanese cuisine.
