Red Malabar Spinach
Basella rubra
Similar to green malabar spinach in culinary uses, red malabar spinach has a more attenuated appearance with deep red leaves and stems and tiny, bright pink-flower clusters. Very ornamental!

Hardiness: Tropical, frost tender. A good plant to grow in a greenhouse.
Habit: An edible perennial 10’+ vine

Soil: Sandy loam soils rich in organic matter
